Anchor Hocking debuted the Pagoda pattern in the early 1970s. The company created this pattern of highly textured surface to compete in the marketplace with the Artica collection which Libbey Glass introduced in 1971. Pagoda’s design appears to have been influenced,  by Iittala of Finland whose Ultima Thule collection for the Finnair airline, designed by Tapio Wirkkala, debuted in 1970.

The Pagoda collection was made in three colors, Laser Blue, Avocado Green and Honey Gold. The collection included four different glass sizes and two different pitcher styles. . Four glass sizes were made, this set includes four of the second to the largest which are round at the top and square above the pedestal foot; bottoms are stippled; capacity per glass 16 oz. and each measures 5½” x 3¼” x 2½” H/W/D.

Medium is pressed glass; color Laser Blue; weight for the entire set 3 lbs.  The cheery Laser Blue color is utterly beguiling and will be a fabulous addition to your retro kitchen or bar.  They also make a great set for  ice tea or lemonade set to bring out when entertaining!
